GANYMEDE WAVE RECORDS is a Tokyo-based independent label specializing in dance music. We are a full member of IMCJ (Independent Music Coalition Japan), the official Japanese representative of WIN (Worldwide Independent Network), which connects leading independent music labels and organizations across the globe.

The name is inspired by Ganymede, Jupiter’s moon, and the spacecraft featured in the science fiction novel “Inherit the Stars.”

Founder’s Journey

The Founder’s Journey

House music, infused with the energy of festivals, has always been a source of inspiration, and in 2010 I began creating audiovisual content and experimenting with synthesized tracks. Eventually, this passion evolved into a vision of music that crossed borders and resonated with listeners on a global scale.

In 2020, I shifted my focus to international markets and partnered with several international labels to distribute original house-focused dance music on platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify. Through producing and curating label mixes, I am also able to discover and support emerging artists.

Our research into the Japanese music scene highlighted the limited presence of dance music labels catering to the global market. I noticed a gap between the growing popularity of house music globally and domestically. This realization led me to create a label dedicated to house music and new styles to reach a diverse audience through major streaming services. My goal is to create an environment that embraces innovation, nurtures fresh talent, and connects music lovers around the world.
